7/6/06 Back To Wales

If you read our report of our last trip to Wales you'll know it was very cold and snowy, well seen as the sun was shining we decided to head back to Cwm Carn in South Wales to test some more bikes (the things we do for you folk). The weather in Wales was glorious sunshine and the trails were dry and dusty it was a great day to be riding.

On top of this as we arrived into the car park we were surprised to see the big transit van and trailer of the uplift service. Thanks to students it now runs on Wednesday's so we loaded up for runs on Cwm Carns DH trail as supported by Mojo.

The course is not for the faint hearted or novice rider but on our freshly built up Helius FR it was nothing but pleasure. The bike was capable of eating up all the lumps, bumps, boulders and drops, inspiring confidence to do things you wouldn't normally consider. The travel on the bike felt perfect it could take the heat but was still pedalable up climbs and in the straights a skill most DH bikes will normally lack. If your considering a larger travel Trail, Freeride DH bike take a demo on this Nicolai and you will not be disappointed.

Whilst in Cwm Carn we also went and rode the XC loop to see what was hiding under all that snow last time. It really is a nicely challenging loop and the Helius CC as last time really shone through eating up the miles and proving a really nice ride. The views from the top of the XC trail were amazing and the photo's just cannot do justice. If you do get the chance to go this summer I think it really is worth the trip.
