This week Commencal brought their 2009 range to the UK first it's first
showing, so we went along to Aston Hill to have a look at them and find
out what they've got planned.
On arrival, the first impression was how great the range looks - again.
Commencal have proved to be a big hit because the bikes are great fun to
ride, but also look good, and each year they seem to make themselves stand
out. And this year looks like it won't be an exception, as on a somewhat
overcast day in Buckinghamshire, the spread of day-glo frames and white
rims was quite a sight to take in! Here are some of the highlights...

The Meta 5.5 range, always
our most popular Commencals, are pretty much unchanged for next year
(if it ain't broke...), except for the green - white - black paint
jobs, and aforementioned white rims. The photo doesn't do it
justice, these really are bright bikes! |
| Whilst the 5.5 remains the
same, the Meta 4 has been completely overhauled, and is now the
Super 4. Lighter and leaner, this is the full-sus bike for riding
fast on. Gets the same colour treatment as the Meta 5s. |

A new model for this year,
the carbon Skin. Here's the frameset, with the complete bikes in the
background - in yes, you've guessed it, green, black and white. As
with any carbon bike you're duty-bound to bike it up to see how
light it is, so we can confirm that yes, it's very, very light! |
| And finally, if you fancy
something to take down the jump park, then just choose your colour... |
